Sh. Paramdeep Singh Gill ,IPS D.G.P Punjab inaugurated the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell, at CIA Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib on 24.11.2009 . It will start a new era in the Cyber Crime Investigation. It is first of its kind in the region. It will help to investigate the complicated cases of white color crime, cyber crime and also help the investigating officers in other cases also . All police officers will be provided the best training setup in this cell in a phased manner. This cell is fully equipped with the latest gadgets for the examining the cyber crime exhibits like computers, mobile phones etc. Four Police officials, one NGO and three ORs (ASI Ved Parkash 929/W,CT Inderjit Singh 162/W,CT Harmanpreet Singh 106/W and CT Gurmeet Singh 722/W) from computers and telecommunication wing had undergone special training  from CFSL Hyderabad to  handle and examine  the Cyber Crime exhibits.

          Speaking on this occasion Sh. P.S.Gill ,IPS highlighted the need and importance of such cells in Punjab Police. Sh. P.S.Gill, IPS , IGP/Zone-I Patiala, Sh. S.K.Asthana, IPS,DIG/ Patiala Range and Dr. Kaustubh Sharma, IPS Sr. Supdt. Of Police Fatehgarh Sahib were also present on this occasion.
